Jazzercise Celebrates National Dance Day with FREE classes for the whole family!

National Dance Day Celebration FREE Family Event

8:15am - Junior Jazzercise Class for kids 3 and up
8:50am - Special Jazzercise Dance Performance
9:00am - Jazzercise Class* (must be 13 years of age or older) with the whole team from Yuma Jazzercise.  Free childcare will also be provided beginning at 9am.

*Jazzercise exercise programs are 60-minute fitness classes incorporating cardio, strength, and stretch moves for a total body workout. Jazzercise class combines moves from yoga, Pilates, jazz dance exercise, hip-hop, and kickboxing. All ages, levels, and sizes welcome to join our dance exercise program.

· Timed run/walk, results will be posted on the Yuma Desert Runners Website
· Overall and age group awards
· Four mile out and back course along the riverfront trail from Gateway Park to Joe Henry Park and back.
· On-course water/Gatorade and finish line refreshments will be provided

Archeologist Tom Jones returns to the Main Library to present another fascinating program about the ancient history of our surroundings.

Archeologist for the Bureau of Land Management, Jones will talk about rock etchings.  Also called "petroglyphs," these ancient symbolic or artistic drawings were created centuries ago by prehistoric people.  What do these drawings mean?  What messages did they convey?  To whom?  Bring your questions with you when you come to this program!

Open to all ages.  Designed to be fun and informative for kids and adults.

The Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition is putting on a program here at the library.   They will be showing two movies every Friday in July.  The first film will be for children 5 -10.  And the 2nd movie will be for ages 10-18.  There will be refreshments and prizes.  (all ages of families are invited to attend too)

A family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world.

"Same Time, Next Year" is the story of George and Doris who have met somewhere in the wine country of California AND have impulsively taken a room. It is the morning after and immediately we see that George feels guilty yet is still uncontrollably attracted to sweet, implacable Doris.

Written by Bernard Slade, it was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play and won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding New American Play. It is presented here by Yuma Community Theatre with permission from Samuel French, Inc.

Bring your own chairs, no coolers and no outside beverages.  To get to the Paradise Casino parking lot, you'll need to cross over the Ocean to Ocean Highway bridge (across the river from the Yuma Historical Prison).

Yuma Youth Choir Farewell Concert

Be the first to hear the choir perform its sacred repertoire as well as some of their secular standards before they leave for Italy.  The Yuma Youth Choir (YYC), directed by Beth Tibbs, will be traveling to Italy in July to sing at St. Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican City and at St. Mark's in Venice.

Come hear sacred a cappella literature that the YYC will sing in St. Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican City and at St. Mark's in Venice. Some pieces include "Tu Pauperum Refugium" by the French Renaisaance composer Josquin des Prez and "Vergin Tutto Amor" by Baroque Italian composer Francesco Durante. The choir will also perform a variety of American spirituals and folk songs.
