Arizona Classical Ballet

Arizona Classical Ballet offers ballet, pointe, comtemporary, tap, hip hop, tumbling, jazz / pilates, praise & worship & zumba.  They have classes begining at 20 months!

In addition to their weekday schedule, they also offer classes Saturday morning for toddlers and preschoolers.  A couple of friends take their daughters on Saturday and say that Mrs. Barbara is wonderful with children. Click here for their full schedule.

Yuma moms speak out.  Find out what other moms had to say about Arizona Classical Ballet:

"I have 4 sons, and they dance at Arizona Classical Ballet. My oldest son is becoming quite a talented adult male ballet dancer and prefers classical ballet, which is why ACB is a great place to dance.  For younger boys who want to do hiphop or breakdance, ACB has a great teacher. We have looked at almost all the dance studios in Yuma and none of them has a hiphop class that is truly for boys except ACB. They also offer worship dance with Miss Barbara."

Child & Family Resources offers in home services

Child and Family Resources that offers the Parent Awareness Program (the class that are offered in the library) also offers their services in the home.  The program is for any parent within Yuma County that has a child 0-5.  During the home visits, they do the same concept as the class only in the comfort of the families home and they also use the brain boxes.  If families are interested in the program they can contact the Child and Family Resources Office at 783-4003.  If a group of parents wants to do the classes in the home they can also do that as well.

Play-based parenting class (for military)

The MCCS Counseling Support Play-based Parenting class is a 6-week play group/parenting class for parents of 1-4 year old children. You bring your child with you to class.  The first 30 minutes are spent playing followed by a parent discussion on a topic that is presented and questions and concerns are discussed and ends with a circle time for the kids (and us big kids too).  It's a lot of fun and a good way to pick up some additional tools for that parenting tool box.  If you are interested in signing up for the Play-based parenting class, please call (928) 269-2561.

Summer break is in full effect, are you going crazy yet?

School is out for summer and it can be very exciting at first, but after a week (or a day or two), it becomes a bit exhausting.  If you're finding this is true for you, be sure to check out the parks and rec activity guide.  I post about many of the Parks & Rec activities on YumaMom.com, but there is much, much, more to choose from.

Click here to view the guide online.  To register for these classes, you may call them at (928) 373-5243, but it can be difficult to get through and expect to be on hold for a while.  You can also register in person at the City Hall.  Or you can register online through Active.com.  If you choose to register through Active.com, just type in the name of the class as show in the activity guide into the Active.com search box and it should come up.  There is an additional $2 processing fee for using their services unless you join and pay a membership fee through Active.com.  Even if you don't plan to register through Active.com, it's a great way to find out if the classes you're interested in are full or not.

If the handle of your buggy attaches with a bolt and screw, you have a new design and your buggy is not involved in this recall.
